No, they are a medium coated long hair cat but they can be easily brushed once a week.
My very first Ragdoll was vaccumed and he just stood there patiently until it was finished.
What is the life expectancy of a Ragdoll?
Much like any other breed, with a well balanced diet, much love and care they will live a 12 – 14 age life span.
Does the Ragdoll make a good hunter or gatherer?
No forget it, they are too beautiful for that life style, they would prefer to have their meals delivered to them with no feathers or skin.
Are Ragdolls intelligent?
Yes they are easily trained with food being their motivation, a tempting morsel works wonders plus a heart felt willingness, to please. We are very fortunate to have had many of our cats and progeny starring on TV advertisements, calendars and photo shoots as they have that star quality.
Is the Ragdoll a large cat?
Yes the Ragdoll is a large breed of cat with boys anything from 6 to 9 kilos and the girls more petite from 6-7 kilos.
Is the Ragdoll an indoor a cat?
Yes but also they love to go outdoors too. They love the simple joys and pleasures of being outside enjoying the garden and watching the day go by. They are very loyal and do not wander but love company.
Is the Ragdoll of today able to be traced back to the early foundation cats of Ann Baker?

What colours can you get in the Ragdolls?
Kiwimagic breeds blue, seal, lilac and chocolate.
What are the rarest colours in Ragdolls?
The chocolate and lilac coloured Ragdolls are stunning and hard to breed which is why they are sought after but often on a waiting list.
When did the first Ragdolls come to NZ ?
Kiwimagic imported the first Ragdolls back in 1994 from the UK and later Australia.
Do Ragdolls travel easily or do they need to be calmed?
Yes, Kiwimagic exports all over the world, they are fabulous natured and they take the travel in their stride and are happy cats.
Do Ragdolls have good health?
Yes they do, Kiwimagic breeds only from DNA tested health guaranteed cats, HCM PKD and FeL can be a problem in most breeds but a responsible breeder will take the hard work out of it by doing the right thing for the breed.
If breeders do not do this, then be very wary.
